Britain celebrates its first £50,000 bed sale... a small price to pay for an improved quality of life.

The UK’s first Hästens concept store, Hästens West End, has recently celebrated Britain’s most expensive bed sale. The purchase was for a Hästens Vividus bed with bespoke dimensions of 270cm x 230cm, worth over £50,000; both customer and sleep expert Brent Cooper agree that it was money very well spent.

Each bed is created using the finest natural materials, hand picked for their unique natural qualities; pure new wool that keeps you warm in winter and cool in the summer, the finest cotton with it’s soft, moisture resistant and flexible properties and sumptuous layers of individually hand teased horsehair. The mattress has a superior extra long 18cm pocket spring surrounded by eight layers of luxurious fillings skilfully layered above and below the springs. The base has a foundation of hand set springs lashed together and topped with a layer of pocket springs to provide a superb platform for the elite mattress. Each pocket is hand sewn, each tuft placed with precision, each joint is hand dovetailed, with slats that are attached with oak dowels and cotton lining secured with brass upholstery nails.
